How To Earn Cash Fast | Easy Gold Guide
There are lots of ways to earn money fast in Divinity: Original Sin 2, so we’ll keep a running tally of tasks / tips to keep you informed.
Methord #1: Early Game Earnings [1,000+ Gold]
At the start of the game, you’ll be pretty strapped for cash. For a big payday in Fort Joy, find the raised balcony with the high ladder on the balcony. Teleport up to the balcony, then drop the ladder down to easily access the locked door. Lockpick the door (it helps to have a diverse team) to enter Orivand’s Chambers.
NOTE: If you don’t have the Teleportation skill, acquire the Glove of Teleportation from The Teleporter quest.
The chambers are full of pricey objects to steal, including paintings and another locked chest you can crack open with the right skills. Take everything that isn’t nailed down and sell it for a quick reward. Don’t forget to move the dressing panel in the missing balcony wall to find another unlocked chest outside the chamber.
Method #2: Pickpocket Everyone [2000+ Per Pickpocket]
If you put points into Thievery and Sneaking, you can earn tons of cash by pickpocketing everyone and everything in town. Sneaking reduces vision cones while sneaking, making it easier to avoid detection, while thievery enhances the amount of gold you can loot, and improves your pickpocketing and lockpicking skills.
NOTE: You can respect at any time to drop all your points into Thievery and Sneaking if you want fast cash. It also helps to collect armor or gear that further enhances Thievery. Reach Thievery 4 at least for best results.
You can only attempt to pickpocket a target ONCE. If you find a target with lots of stuff to loot, dump all your points and enhance Thievery as much as you can to get the most value out of a rich NPC. You can completely rob Traders, so whenever possible, check to see if there’s a spot you can enter stealth near shops.
- After robbing an NPC, they’ll realize they’ve been robbed after a few seconds. Complete a pickpocket, then immediately retreat out of the area so they don’t see you.
- They’ll only alert others and attack if they spot you after they realize they’ve been robbed, so you can sprint away safely right after a success.
- Before pickpocketing, send the rest of your party far away so you don’t have to deal with them while sneaking / retreating. They can wait outside of town or in a far-off location where your thievery victims won’t find them.
Divinity Original Sin Infinite Gold Card
If a pickpocketed NPC does not find you, they’ll exit the alert stage and you can safely talk to them without incident. At Thievery 4, you can earn 2,000+ Gold from a single rich NPC.
Method #3: Digging Up The Dead [3500+ Gold]
Divinity Original Sin Infinite Gold Mod
In the town of Driftwood on Reaper’s Coast, go to the graveyard called Ryker’s Rest. Knock on Ryker’s door and talk to him, then tell him the truth in the conversation tree. He’ll let you inside his well-stocked house. This method relies more on your Bartering skill than you stealth.
NOTE: Talk to the Masked Servant beside the dining table. He’ll turn to face whatever direction you choose to talk to him. Talk to him so he looks away from the table. Now you can loot it freely while sneaking.
Divinity Original Sin Walkthrough
The building is full of items you can loot if you’re sneaky. The dining table is a treasure trove of items — golden spoons, serving plates, forks, knives, pitchers, and tons of other junk that’s good only for selling. Collect everything and unload at the nearest store to easily earn 3,500 gold. There are more rooms with more masked servants — go through the house, picking it clean. You don’t need high stealth to rob Ryker’s place blind.
Method #4: Rob The Lady Vengeance Blind [100,000+ Gold]
Like Method #2, this method is all about pickpocketing. Instead of tricking random traders, you’ll instead be able to rob from the traders you recruit to the Lady Vengeance, a ship that’s available later in the game. There are lots of random NPCs you can recruit to help you on the ship, and many of them carry an insane amount of gold.
On the Lady Vengeance, respec your entire team of characters to have Thievery 5, and equip gear that can increase it further for the most gold. Then, simply, rob from each of the NPC traders, one at a time. Each character can only pickpocket an NPC once — but that only counts for a single character. You can rob a trader up to four times, using four different party members.
Rob the following characters multiple times;
- Fletcher Corbin Day (Recruit from the Abandoned Sawmill in Driftwood.)
- Gareth
- Sergeant Zrilla
- Almira
- Larquin
- Jahan
Don’t bother taking any of the equipment. Just loot the gold stack in their inventory. A single character can collect 50,000+ from these NPCs alone. Go and pickpocket everyone with every single character, and you’ll never need gold again.
